An American multinational telecommunications company in partnership with Robi, Motorola; the second largest mobile network operator in Bangladesh has launched its latest mobile phones into the market.
A launching ceremony for these latest gadgets was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel recently where ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended as the chief guest.
Other attendees included Robi Managing Director and CEO Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, Robi Chief Digital Services Officer Shihab Ahmad, Smart Technologies BD Ltd Chairman Mohd. Mazharul Islam, Robi Group Director MD Zafor Ahmed, and Robi Director Shakib Arafat.
Smart Technologies BD Ltd. brought the Motorola brand in the country and is the national distributor of the Moto devices.
“Further partnership of Robi and Motorola will help increase 4.5G network in the country by creating job opportunities to unemployed youths,” Zunaid Ahmed Palak said.
“At least 28 hi-tech parks are now being constructed outside Dhaka and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park in Rajshahi will play a vital role in boosting the economy by creating new technology-based employment.
“More youths can be brought under employment network while around 14,000 people can be engaged in through Hi-tech technology.” he added.
Commenting on the much awaited launch of Motorola handsets, Robi’s Managing Director and CEO, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said Robi has the largest 4.5G network in the country, with 7,100 4.5G sites.
