State Minister of ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, usage of internet has increased by 50 per cent during the Covid-19 pandemic and the number of opening of mobile accounts went up to 5.0 million.
Palak informed this while inaugurating “Advanced Certification for Management Professionals (ACMP) 4.0 Summer 2020” training course through zoom online jointly organized by LICT project and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of University of Dhaka on June 16.
Mentioning that this is one of the best examples of how to keep the economy running by using information technology during disasters and pandemics, the state minister said that advanced technologies like robot, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics will be the driving force of life and economy in the future, reports UNB.
“That’s why everyone needs to have some idea about these technologies,” added he.
“Advanced technology is being used widely during Covid-19 due to the increasing usage of technology that plays a key role in expediting global changes including economic activities. If we fail to adapt, the country will lag behind”, said Palak.
State Minister also called upon the IT professionals to take forward the economic activities and take the training suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the altered situation.
