Next Generation Banker of Bangladesh, a platform of young professional bankers of the country, held its first annual general meeting on Friday at the Rainy Roof Restaurant in Karwanbazaar of the capital.
After its formation in 2018, NGBB, for the past four years has become the foremost organization of Bangladesh’s banking community with over fifteen thousand young bankers.
From supporting bankers during the COVID-19 to protesting Agrani Bank officer’s murder, NGBB has played an important role in bringing young bankers under one platform.
NGBB’s first AGM meeting was chaired by Abdullah Al Faruk of State Bank of India and was convened by Sharif Mainul Islam of Trust Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Faruk said they are forming a NGBB Trust to help the bankers in the time of need.
“We have formed this trust to conduct philanthropic activities related to the interests of employees working in banks and financial institutions. Only the employees of Banks or Financial Institutions, scattered all over the country can be the members of the Trust,” he said.
Wasi Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury of Al Arafa Islami Bank, Rumana Jahir of Citizen Bank, Zakia Husnain of Trust Bank and Masum Billah of South Bangla Agricultural Bank also spoke on the occasion.
Former banker of South East Bank Nihad Ferdous did the keynote presentation.
