Universal Cardiac Hospital – formerly Aysha Memorial Cardiac Hospital – held day-long ‘2nd International Conference on Cardiocare 2018’ at Dhaka’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel last month. Minister for Information for Information Hasanul Haq Inu was present as the chief guest at the opening session for the conference.
The chairperson of Universal Cardiac Hospital Priti Chakraborty chaired the conference. Secretary for the healthcare department of the Ministry of health and Family Welfare (MHFW) Md Serajul Haque Khan, Secretary for the educational health department of the MHFW GM Saleh Uddin, the president of Shadhinota Chikitsha Parishad Dr M Iqbal Arsalan, renowned cardiac surgeon Professor SR Khan and the Vice Chairman of the hospital Dilip Kumar Pal were present at the conference. Dr Ashis Kumar Chakraborty, the managing director of the hospital gave the welcome speech.
Minister Inu praised the initiative for the conference saying it is a commendable effort by Universal Cardiac Hospital. “It deserve commendation that such a big scientific convention is being held by a private organization. I really hope that the interaction between the young and experience health professionals through this conference will move Bangladesh one step forward in cardiac healthcare. The current government is working tirelessly to inspire the private healthcare sector. I thank Universal Cardiac Hospital for taking such a non-commercial and timely initiative,” the minister said.
23 renowned cardiologists presented papers at the conference. 50 cardiologists spoke on the impact of social, economic and government policy in modern cardiology treatment in Bangladesh. About 700 cardiologists and cardiac surgeons were present at the conference.
