An emergency meeting was held on April 22, 2020 with the startups of the “Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project” of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division to address the corona situation. The Executive Director of BCC Mr. Parthapratim Deb presided over the meeting, which was held via online video conferencing.
Because of the deadly Coronavirus, The whole country is going through a challenging time now. At this time, Food, Health, Education, these three important sectors need special planning and timely action. Therefore, from now on, BCC’s Executive Director Mr. Parthapratim Deb said that everyone should work together in a cohesive and robust manner and should use proper uses of technologies. In this emergency meeting, he gave several directions to prepare for a difficult situation without having to give up on all.
Meanwhile, multiple urgent steps are being taken regularly from the ICT Division under the proper supervision and leadership of Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP, State Minister, ICT Division of Bangladesh, to address the Corona situation. In light of this, the iDEA project, under the banner of “Startup Bangladesh”, is taking special strategies in coordinating the services of various startups under the iDEA project. In the meantime, Startup Bangladesh has taken initiative to collect food items from the rural stage and reach it to the people in a digital manner. Different e-commerce companies including Chaldal, Truck Lagbe, Digital Arotdar and Women Entrepreneurs of Bangladesh (WEBD) have been involved in this whole process.
The new platform, comprised of startups, is expected to play a significant role in the country’s services system. Syed Mojibul Huq, Project Director (Additional Secretary) of the iDEA Project, outlined different aspects and strategies on what kind of emergency measures can be taken to ensure services in various sectors including Food, Health, Education. The meeting was attended by Sr. officials of ICT Division and representatives including Chaldal, Truck Lagbe, Digital Arotdar, Women Entrepreneurs of Bangladesh (WEBD), Bangla Puzzle, Meditor Health, Lazarus Robotics and many more.
