Assessing corona risk in the country, ICT Division introduced contact tracing app service ‘Corona Tracer BD’.
ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the app through online video conference on June 4.
Corona Tracer BD can be one of the most effective solutions to prevent the spread of COVID 19 pandemic in the country.
Senior Secretary of ICT Division NM Ziaul Alam attended as special guest with Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad and Director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) Meerjady Sabrina Flora during the conference.
In his speech as chief guest Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, “This app will play an important role in creating safety barriers for lives and livelihood to fight against corona pandemic”.
He urged to the country people to use this app for keeping themselves safe from the spread of coronavirus outbreak.

NM Ziaul Alam said, “From the very beginning, ICT department along with private sector has always been emphasizing on maximum use of technology to solve natural catastrophe. So this app is the glaring example of public-private partnership”.
Also on the occasion, Sohoz Founder and Managing Director Maliha M Quadir spoke to the video conference and showed her keynote presentation on COVID 19 contact tracing app.
The app will help identify the people coming in contact with corona patients through analyzing various information via Bluetooth and GPS. Besides, the users will get different suggestions on this issue.
Note that ICT Division including DGHS, IEDCR, Access to Information (a2i), mobile game application project and online platform Sohoz developed this app.
