US media giant Forbes has released its 2018 Asia’s ‘30 under 30’ list. This year two Bangladeshi youngsters have made it to the list.
The 2018 list features 30 game changers, young innovators and disruptors across 10 categories. Here are the two Bangladeshi people who have made it to this year’s list:
Ayman Sadiq
CEO, 10 Minute School
Ayman Sadiq is a passionate educator and founder of the 10 Minute School. The Bangladesh-based, free online education platform features hundreds of live classes and smartbooks, thousands of video tutorials, and tens of thousands of quizzes and other educational tools designed to reach anyone looking to improve their skills.
They currently reach more than 150,000 students online, and have the support of the Bangladeshi government. The Dhaka University graduate recently won the Queen’s Young Leaders Award 2018 and the best e-learning award from the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance for his school.
Sajid Iqbal
Founder, Change
Change is a youth-led development organization committed to promoting renewable energy. In their most notable project, founder Sajid Iqbal partnered with a German provider of international cooperation services, GIZ, to introduce solar bottle lights to 4,000 people in disadvantaged Bangladeshi communities.
Iqbal has also worked with organizations to develop solar lanterns, street lights and micro irrigation pumps. He has received awards for his work from prominent banker and social entrepreneur Professor Mohammed Yunus and the U.S. Department of State. In 2017, he received the Queen’s Young Leaders award.
