ICT Division facilitates online classes

Educational activities through online classes started through the iDEA project under the ICT Division.

Through video conferencing by the “Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project” of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division, the inaugural ceremony of online class activities was organized at Dhaka Residential Model College on Monday.

State Minister of ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated this virtually.

The iDEA project is providing all technical support for this online class. Initially, from now on classes for nine to twelve will be taken online.

The class duration will be 60 minutes with 45 minutes of teaching and the remaining 15 minutes of question and answer (Q&A) sessions. Students will be provided with the class routine including necessary materials in advance.

As part of this, a platform called “Food for Nation” for food, “Health for Nation” for health, and “Education for Nation” for education was formed, said Palak speaking on occasion.

Palak said, “Technology is only the driving force in all areas of business, including education and health. So we want to spread the model of this online education system from each and every places of the city and villages”.

The Startup Bangladesh-iDEA project is also going to start creating an online platform to deliver the same service through online management and with the help of startups in different educational institutions across Bangladesh centering on that education sector, reports the Financial Express.

Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Zeaul Alam PAA, the Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Division of Ministry of Education Md Mahbub Hossain and Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Parthapratim Deb attended as the special guests at the virtual conference.

Also, Kazi Hossain Ara, Deputy Project Director (Deputy Secretary) of iDEA Project, Mehedi Hasan Bhuiyan, Technology Management Specialist of the project including teachers of Dhaka Residential Model College took part in this online program.

Note, the ICT Division has been working in collaboration with the country’s education, health, and food management since the time when the country was in crisis due to the deadly coronavirus attack.
