“The government will establish ‘Centre of Excellence on Frontier Technologies’ in different educational institutes in the country very soon”, said ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
Its purpose is to prepare the young generation for the fourth industrial revolution, said he on July 22 at a ‘Digital Education Materials Distribution Ceremony’ for ensuring participation of students in online classes at Dhaka Residential Model College auditorium in the city.
He also said, “It would help leveraging research and knowledge on automatic driving, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), big data, internet of things (IoT), smart city and network.”
“We were dealing with global epidemics, our leader the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was taking time-befitting action to tackle the crisis,” Palak said.
Educational institutions in the country have been remained closed for the past five months, but the students’ education is still available on Sangsad Television and online digital platforms due to creation of technological infrastructure,” he added.
The state minister added, “Eight thousand Sheikh Russel Digital Labs have been established in various educational institutes in the country to create a technology-rich nation.
More 10,000 labs will be established in the next five years. Specialized labs are also being established at different universities”.
